An old friend of mine recently wrote in his blog about America electing a socialist in the upcoming election. The move has been a slow one. It started during WWI with Woodrow Wilson who tried to start the League of Nations. It continued with the Income Tax and the elimination of one of the powers that the States had over the Federal Gubment, with the passing of the 17th amendment. The state legislatures had always elected them as they were seen as ambassadors to the federal government. Then you throw in the Federal Reserve System and Fiat Money the progressives just got about all they wanted.
Then during WW2, FDR tried to pack the supreme court to pass the new deal. The Constitution does not say how many Justices the SCOTUS is supposed to have but tradition has always been nine. FDR wanted to add at least three more. FDR also tried to enact a Second Bill of Rights with things like a guaranteed wage, a house and other things that are not guaranteed in the US Constitution.
Then we have LBJ and the greatest expansion of Federal Power that this country has ever seen with the Great Society Program. We are still paying for it today with money and cultural destruction and the Gubment being the slave master with mostly minorities paying the price.
My point is that we have been drifting towards it for awhile as many American realize that they can vote themselves a pay raise and politicians more than willing to give it to them to maintain power.
The only reason that we are not as far down the road to socialism as we could be is because of the 8 years of the great one himself, Ronald Reagan.
Thanks for listening tonight...

Man today was a tough day at work. There i tons of work to be done with the upcoming merger between Delta and NWA.
We are one week away from the election and it blows my mind that the American People seem to be on the verge of electing a man who has NO Experience in anything but voting present. A socialist and a Marxist. He wants to redistribute the wealth to those less fortunate. Please. I do feel still that McCain will win the electoral college because I really believe the polls are way off. One can hope. I am no big fan of McCain but good gosh almighty he is far better than the Messiah.
I keep hearing about your "right" to vote in this election. Most people really don't comprehend that you have NO such right in voting for the president. The legislatures could jello wrestle for the electoral votes if they wanted. We are NOT a democracy but a constitutional republic there is a HUGE difference.
Oh well off to dinner...

New to this I am...but not really
Its kinda scary to think that I can publish my thoughts for the world to see. Needless to say there will be many things that I will not say here but those that know me know that I ain't afraid to tell you what I think.
The reason that I say I am not new to this is because I have been writing letters to the editors for years. I still have my first one in a scrap book. It was to the Atlanta Paper in 1984 in Support of the great one himself, Ronald Maximus Reagan.
Thanks for giving a hoot what I think...maybe I can inform and entertain you at the same time.
For the record, Obama is a marxist and a socialist and that is not a racist statement.
